stuff to do.

Boy, this is a busy time of year. For my illustration class I have to paint at least two more portraits, but I can't organize a time to take photos of anyone. The idea behind the class is that i will have a cohesive bound presentation portfolio with full color reproductions of all my work this semester. My friend Jeremy keeps bringing in his camera to class, but I never have any work with me because they are so big. Hopefully he will bring it to the capstone show that opens this Friday.

Yep, the Capstone show is this week! I have looked forward to it since I started as an illustration student, but now I am so busy with other things that I can't really get excited about it. I submitted six pieces of art:

Helen
Metadrawing
Self Portrait 2009
The library Poster
Get Off My Lawn (Dick)
... and something else thats not coming to me right now.

Either way, I will be taking pictures of all of them at the show and will likely post them up here. Framing everything ended up costing me almost $300... but i suppose it is worth it. Now I can submit stuff to other shows without worrying about the cost of framing.

I also have life drawing to worry about... i have to finish my double portrait of Jessica, work on my sketchbook so it looks like something and do my final. The final is at least 30" x 40" and must include at least 7 figures from our in class drawings. It is suppose to depict some sort of myth. Mark Strathy is a pretty laid back guy, so I figure i will do something obscure that he might appreciate. Maybe something out of the Native American mythology of the pacific northwest. Might be fun to do a bunch of sasquatches (sp?) posing in the forest. :D

Another thing on my list is to try and find somewhere in Salem where I can show at. I would like to have a "real" show sometime soon and since I am moving into a new town might be the best time to do that.

The Florida Mural project seems like it might go down sooner than later. I talked to the woman who is commissioning me earlier today it seems the best time to paint her two VW's would be before it gets too humid and BEFORE I start a new job. That way, I can have some time to focus on the project without worry about it eating into my vacation time. Vacation time is sacred right now because Jessica and I are getting Married in September and might want to take a couple days off. I think California might be a possibility. :D

Maybe I could take a day and touch up Aswah's bus while we are out there. It would be a shame after to not visit them if we go out there. Anyway, I have life drawing in 24 minutes and have to drive 40 minutes to get there. I don't want to be too late! He never starts on time so I am OK. :D
